The Georgia City-County Management Association was selected as the host for the Alliance for Innovation’s Annual Convention: Cool Communities: Transforming Local Government (TLG) Conference in 2013. The Conference will be held at the Marriott Marquis Atlanta.

This is an exciting opportunity for us. This is a national conference, with nationally known speakers, held right here in our home state. The Alliance plans to offer discounted registration rates for managers who bring members of their staff with them. We’d like to see 250 attendees from Georgia. While you are planning your budget for next year, please remember to budget for this special event for yourself and for your staff. This event will replace the annual GCCMA Spring Conference and we will have an opportunity to hold our business meeting during the TLG Conference.

Sessions will focus on the following topics:
• Economic Vitality – local government programs and services that have been designed to contribute to the economic sustainability of our communities.
• Organizational Design – programs that focus on organizational transformation such as culture changes,technology advancement, employee engagement and human resource innovation to meet today’s challenges.
• Community Building – creating the forum and places to involve citizens in community building.
• Partnerships – collaborative efforts that require partnering to deliver services in new ways.
