Transforming Local Government Conference a Success

The TLGConference ended on Friday, April 12 and was considered a great success by all who attended.  Attendance for the meeting exceeded 500, with 150 Georgia delegates, and included more vendors in the exhibit area than anytime in history.  A variety of sessions and workshops were conducted and two nationally known speakers, Rebecca Ryan and Jennifer Pahlka conducted general sessions.   Click title for more.


GCCMA Annual Business Meeting to be Held in Conjunction with TLG Conference

The GCCMA Annual Business Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 11 at 4:45 p.m., immediately following the Thursday afternoon general session.  The meeting will take place in Room M103 at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta-Fulton County.  During the meeting, the nominating committee will present their slate of officers and board of directors for 2013-2014 and the election will be held.  Additionally, the 2012 year end financial statement will be reviewed and updates from the 2013 legislative session will be given.  All GCCMA members are encouraged to attend.


GCCMA to Host Transforming Local Government Conference in April

The annual Transforming Local Government (TLG) conference inspires creativity, fosters ingenuity and offers a unique opportunity to explore the landscape of local government through a non-traditional lens. It’s this TLG experience that brings together teams from the most innovative local governments to learn, share and network.
 
This year’s conference will be held in Atlanta, GA on April 10-12, 2013.


GCCMA Members Conclude their Fall Conference in Valdosta

The 2012 Fall Conference of the Georgia City-County Management Association was held in Valdosta, October 24-26. The event attracted more than 120 attendees, including 32 exhibitors. Walt Stasinski, President of Potential Unlimited, kicked off the event on Wednesday afternoon as the keynote speaker and delivered an extremely entertaining message on stress, and how to handle it. The Thursday and Friday sessions dealt with issues that all managers have to face; pension planning , employee benefits, contract negotiations with department heads and team building for their staff. 


2012 Fall Conference Almost Here

The GCCMA Fall Conference will be held in Valdosta on October 24-26. We have an educational and entertaining program planned. For registration information, please consult the registration packet. For a copy of the final program, click here.  The Annual General Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 4:00 pm.  Included on the meeting agenda is discussion of the proposed 2013 budget. GCCMA to Host the 2013 Transforming Local Government Conference

The Georgia City-County Management Association was selected as the host for the Alliance for Innovation’s Annual Convention: Cool Communities: Transforming Local Government (TLG) Conference in 2013. The Conference will be held at the Marriott Marquis Atlanta.
